All services are offered for both individuals and small groups of children, teens and adults.
Modern Hebrew
Trained in the immersion theory of language learning and with experience in teaching all levels of learners using various curricula, I offer private Hebrew language learning for all ages. This is not your usual Hebrew class! I pull from many resources and my creative mind to create fun and innovative catered programs that are engaging and focused on meeting the goals of each learner. Whether they are interested in starting with the aleph bet or how to read, learning or keeping up the spoken language, supplementary support for religious/day school learning, preparing for an entrance exam, or getting ready for a trip to Israel, I meet my students right where they are in their learning and move at their pace, catering to the learning needs of each individual.
Develop Hebrew language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening...from beginner to advanced levels, for children and adults!
Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation
The great joy of working as a private tutor for Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation is the ability to create a custom learning path for each individual student. A student may begin their private studies from beginning to advanced Hebrew, from varying degrees of exposure to synagogue life, and with current or no connection to a Jewish community. I will guide each student/family throughout the process, and will create a meaningful and substantive framework that maximizes enjoyment and minimizes stress for both the student and their family.
If the Bar/Bat Mitzvah service will be in a synagogue, I work with clergy and other staff to coordinate and create a program of learning within the requirements and expectations of the community. In addition to working with synagogue communities, I also guide unaffiliated families to create a private Bar/Bat Mitzvah service, from beginning to end. I am able to coordinate rentals, clergy, create personalized siddurim (prayerbooks), and plan the service itself, while training the student for their big day.
Jewish Studies
I am interested in creating lasting Jewish memories and substantive Jewish learning that works with the interests of each learner and the context of their lives. Jewish studies learning can be broad in both subject and implementation! We can learn in the park, at home, in a play group, in your work office, on field trips, and even in Israel!
Choose your next journey and I will guide you along your way:
*Judaism 101 (Basic Jewish Literacy)
*Text study/Parshat ha'shavua (the Torah portion of the week)
*Tefillah (Prayer)
*Holidays
*Ethics/Jewish Values
*Jewish History
*Shabbat/holiday experiences
*Hebrew language immersion camps/play groups
*Family/group Israel trips
